Milligram balances are not all built the same. It is vital to always buy the one that meets your weighing demands. Many cheaper milligram balances on the market are made with a strain gauge loadcell which has certain dropbacks that make them inefficient in the laboratory environment. More often than not, people come back to us for a more suitable solution and we always recommend an Ohaus force restoration balance and the Pioneer series is the most affordable unit featuring this type of weighing mechanism. The PX163/E is the most affordable unit in the Pioneer series because it can only be calibrated with an external weight and goes up to 160 grams. There is an internal calibration unit available with the same capacity and higher capacity balances are also available with and without internal calibration. When on a tight budget you can choose what added features you want without sacrificing the integrity of the balance's values.

2 Line Display
A brightly lit dual line display shows the weight in an easy-to-read manner, while a dot-matrix second line provides additional information or guidance prompts to the user.

Durable Construction
Featuring a cast metal lower housing, metal sub-pan, stainless steel weighing pan and removable draftshield or side doors, the Pioneer is durably constructed for long-term use, and suitable for a variety of applications.

Communication Ports (RS-232, USB)
Standard RS-232 and USB device ports allow for easy connectivity to printers and other peripherals, allowing convenient capture of results. OHAUS’ free data collection tool (SPDC) provides a simple solution to import this data directly in formats such as Excel, Access, .txt, .csv etc..

Internal Calibration (Optional Feature)
Allows the balance to be quickly calibrated and adjusted with the push of a button, thereby eliminating the expense and maintenance of separate calibration weights.

Static Removal Bar (On Draft Shield Models Only)
A static removal bar along the top of the draftshield provides a convenient grounding location, allowing the user to discharge any static charge that may have accumulated prior to handling samples and weighing. This helps compliance with good weighing practices, while improving the stability and accuracy of results.

Exchanges can be processed within 5 business days of receipt. Please call before shipping any products back to us so we can issue a Return Material Authorization Number (RMA#). You will need to place this number clearly on the return packaging. Please remember to include all contents such as promotional items, accessories, and instruction manuals that came in the original order. The buyer is responsible for freight charges when exchanging purchases. Exchanges can only be made for the same purchased model due to defects. RMA numbers expire after 20 days.

After five days you must call the manufacturer regarding the warranty.

We reserve the right to refuse to issue credit for any item that has been used, misused or damaged. We also reserve the right to charge a restocking fee of up to 25% on returns of opened, used, or damaged products.

We are not responsible for lost or stolen returned merchandise before it reaches our warehouse and signed for by one of our employees.

A purchase cannot be cancelled once it has been shipped. Undeliverable or refused shipments will be subject to a 25% restocking charge plus the cost of shipping and handling. Special orders, custom items, calibration weights and baby scales cannot be returned. All sales are final.
